The Unfolding Scars

Photo courtesy of Savannah Class / Unsplash For the longest time, I have put on a face, tried to look okay, and found comfort in self-development articles. Well today, I just realize there is just some internal damage resting inside that erupts in the worst moments of life. Have you heard of this person who just finds peace in solitude, always staying locked at home, with a mirror as a best friend and comfort? That's a self-description. And just as a friend, there are days you don't get along with the image on the other side of the mirror. So, there I sit looking at the image on the other side of the mirror. Most times I see potential in the person but other times, it just shows how broken the person is. Your smile does crazy things with it but shows no sympathy when you are at the worst. However, I tend to believe I am my best comfort. Other than the mirror is a mind always racing with thoughts and fantasies. Filled with words and events in reality I cannot do. At some point, ...

A Snippet of My Previous Posts (PART I)

Hello pals,

Welcome to this page, where I take you through a sneak peek of all my posts; from their relevance, how applicable they are to our lives, giving honest accounts of what transpired in each post. It is also to gain momentum for the upcoming blog posts. It's simply the journey.

1. Light at the End of the Tunnel

In life, there is indeed light that shoves towards our direction when we face obstacles. There is always a way past barriers.

This post is my first, in which I put myself out here and expressing what to expect in this blog in a symbolism story—trying to come out creative. It was quite a disaster trying to develop an idea of how to start my blog and somewhat settled on this. It is quite a different writing style, and I would not have thought of it any other way. I published it on October 15th, 2020.

2. Our Dreams Versus our Reality

This blog post came a week later after I had finally decided to gain the momentum of writing. The post had and still has the most views and comments. It was me sharing the specific content to expect in my series of blogs.

The first one was an entry shot, and I only shared it through my WhatsApp status and Instagram story. This one, I spread it wholly through WhatsApp. From the status to almost everyone’s Dm and groups. And being something new, it triggered people's curiosity, which boost the engagement in the post. I am so appreciative of this post, not only because of the great response but also because it was entirely me and sharing my capabilities with the world. It was fully brought out from enthusiasm. It is purely creative, original, and relatable.

3. Re-Strategy

After my second post, I had to work on a specific project that took up most of my time. I also went into a self-doubt phase of whether I was heading in the right direction and whether the niche I chose was worthwhile. It took almost three weeks for me to publish this post. It was also at a time; I was conned, did an unpaid job. So devastating. It, however, came with reforms such as change of blog name, theme, etc., all explained in the post. The energy for this post was also relatively high. It has a view almost equal to my second post. It shows the need to re-strategize your plans when things go wrong. Please be my guest and check it out if you haven’t.

4. We are Blessed

This 4th post came from a reflection of the year 2020 and its depressive nature. I realized that there is much more to appreciate in life other than the big goals we set. I was appreciative of this blog that I had started, the positive compliments, and a significant win, graduation. These wins kind of neutralized the negative vibes 2020 had brought us. The post recognizes the ability to overcome the adverse effects of the pandemic throughout the year. It also got a reasonably incredible view.

5. Memoir (Graduation)

The memoir was my major win, and it would be selfish or rather absurd not to share it in my growth and development blog. It happened in November 2020, but I posted it in mid-December. The reason being, I was afraid to put myself out there. Anyway, a friend did encourage me. Thanks to the person you guys got to know about it.

A memoir means a record of important events. It has a take-out of cherishing our wins in life as they give us hope when we are in a mess. I, however, don’t know why the views and comments reduced with this? But if you have not read it, it’s a nice piece with a valuable lesson. It was also my first post with images.

6. Fantasy (Hit or Miss?)

I tried putting out a silly and different type of content. I was playing around with what else I can come up with, and there emerged a poem on fantasy. It is, however, relatable on our daily imaginations, which to some extent are against our favor.

This content was among the library of unpublished posts I came up with shortly before I started blogging. There are just those posts that clutter your document storage that you may not feel confident about publishing, and it was one of them. I believe writers understand the struggles of deciding whether a particular piece will align with your objective. It, however, ended up being in my series of blogs, so that is astride. It had minimal views at first, but I am happy with the progress. Why don’t you leave a comment whether it was a hit or miss.

7. End of Year Post

This blog was a review of how 2020 was, lessons learned, and the way forward. It was also my second post using an image, haha.

I appreciate your time on the posts, and please visit those you haven't; drop a comment on your thoughts and share. Check out for part two.

My Latest Travel Experience

Adventure at Camp Ndunda As I sat on my bed thinking of what to publish in my next post, I couldn’t help but obey the after-effects of my excursion last weekend. The experience was so captivating that I thought it would be best to put it on record. So, my friends and I went camping at Camp Ndunda Falls in Embu from Friday to Sunday. This was my first camping trip. It was also in honor of a friend's birthday. Simply a whole weekend with friends out there experiencing nature. It was one of a kind. We set off in the afternoon and arrived at around 7 pm. The reception right from the gate was at its best. Upon checking in, they did not waste time to give us a guide to help us settle; that is, to our tents, setting us a bonfire and leading us to where we had our supper. Talking of supper, they have flavorful meals to die for, especially their platters. We then got ourselves psyched out for the weekend by jamming into some of our playlists and around a bonfire to sway the night aw...

3 Songs I Can't Get out of My Mind

Photo by Elice Moore from Unsplash.com Music is part of life and a kind of a free lifestyle anyone can access. The rhymes and beats ringing in our minds have a special kind of peace, relaxation, and refreshment . These effects of music trigger one to turn on their playlists or radio while cooking, cleaning, or doing other manual work, or while sitting alone in a vehicle traveling, when bored, among others. The thrill and enchantment help boost mood. Alongside that, the music carries important messages as most artists speak their minds in their songs. About 68 percent of adults aged 18-34 years old listen to music every day. I have come up with a list of 3 songs I can't get out of my mind for like a month. These songs are not particularly new but have a special place in my heart. 1. Déjà vu by Naika  Déjà vu  is on top of my list. I heard a clip of this song a few months ago, but I just passed through it. I came across the artist, Naika , and the entire piece recently, and oh...
