The Unfolding Scars

Photo courtesy of Savannah Class / Unsplash For the longest time, I have put on a face, tried to look okay, and found comfort in self-development articles. Well today, I just realize there is just some internal damage resting inside that erupts in the worst moments of life. Have you heard of this person who just finds peace in solitude, always staying locked at home, with a mirror as a best friend and comfort? That's a self-description. And just as a friend, there are days you don't get along with the image on the other side of the mirror. So, there I sit looking at the image on the other side of the mirror. Most times I see potential in the person but other times, it just shows how broken the person is. Your smile does crazy things with it but shows no sympathy when you are at the worst. However, I tend to believe I am my best comfort. Other than the mirror is a mind always racing with thoughts and fantasies. Filled with words and events in reality I cannot do. At some point, ...

Is it Worth 6 Months? It has to (Appreciation Post)

Hello pals,

Yeeiiiyy, it is exactly six months into blogging. It sounds unbelievable, but yeah, I started blogging on October 15th. I feel like it was yesterday. In this post, I decided to appreciate you as an audience in a little different style. So, I checked my stats for my blog posts, and it is pretty okay, but it still needs some effort from you and me.

However, I appreciate each and everyone’s effort in taking the time to read these posts. The last time I checked, it was at 483 all-time views for six posts on January 4th and now at 716 for twelve. Yes, it has increased, and I appreciate the stride.

I had always wanted to blog two years before I started it. Procrastination and doubt guys! Anyway, I finally did it. Two things actually drove me to start. The major one was having a dull year in 2020. Yeah, most of us faced it. It was majorly on finances. We paid my last semester's fee way after it was over and which quite complicated things. But we settled it, and I did graduate. We should genuinely live in faith.

Economic and social pressures were the major depressors. But I realized pressure is self-inflicted. You can choose not to worry about things. Don't get me wrong. I mean, emotions like sadness and devastation are there. After all, we are human beings. But we can short-live them.

I, therefore, wanted to blog to express, though that became harder than I thought. However, what I do is that I put out a post that relates to what I feel or go through but in a different way. I strive to bring out a growth teaching from each.

Again, it was after taking a writing class at Ajira Digital Program. Blogging was advisable to create one's porfolio and was part of the project to fuel learning. Ajira is a government-sponsored program that trains the youth on the opportunities that exist online for the youth to beat unemployment. It has five categories which are Data Entry/Management, Virtual Assistance, Transcription, Digital Marketing & eCommerce, and Writing & Translation

I also took a writing class and I have made strides with the knowledge I acquired. The program offers extensive training, and trust me, no regrets. It consists of two days of Zoom classes and a one-month mentorship program. To get started, you need to register and book a class. You, too, could work as a freelancer at your convenience.

I may not be blogging at a steady routine, but please bear with me since a lot more goes on outside blogging. But for a bit of compensation, I am bringing you a great offer shopping with Jumia. It has a wide range of products you can choose from, and have them delivered. I have a voucher worth sh.100 for any item you buy. Isn’t that awesome! It is available for a few. So grab the opportunity as soon as you can. The offer is up till the end of this month. At the checkout, use the voucher code, “WOWZI5d78".

I sincerely hope the two gifts I have presented to you will help lots of you in one way or another. They are a small token of appreciation. As we mark this semi-anniversary, please do me a favour. Help me mark it by sharing your favorite post in this blog to your friends and family. I sincerely hope that you could take a minute of your time to share one of your favorite posts. I also hope that you can leave a comment on that post.

Once again, thank you all for your encouraging visits to this blog, motivating feedback and the push. Remember to share my posts as you air your views in the comment section.

My Latest Travel Experience

Adventure at Camp Ndunda As I sat on my bed thinking of what to publish in my next post, I couldn’t help but obey the after-effects of my excursion last weekend. The experience was so captivating that I thought it would be best to put it on record. So, my friends and I went camping at Camp Ndunda Falls in Embu from Friday to Sunday. This was my first camping trip. It was also in honor of a friend's birthday. Simply a whole weekend with friends out there experiencing nature. It was one of a kind. We set off in the afternoon and arrived at around 7 pm. The reception right from the gate was at its best. Upon checking in, they did not waste time to give us a guide to help us settle; that is, to our tents, setting us a bonfire and leading us to where we had our supper. Talking of supper, they have flavorful meals to die for, especially their platters. We then got ourselves psyched out for the weekend by jamming into some of our playlists and around a bonfire to sway the night aw...

3 Songs I Can't Get out of My Mind

Photo by Elice Moore from Unsplash.com Music is part of life and a kind of a free lifestyle anyone can access. The rhymes and beats ringing in our minds have a special kind of peace, relaxation, and refreshment . These effects of music trigger one to turn on their playlists or radio while cooking, cleaning, or doing other manual work, or while sitting alone in a vehicle traveling, when bored, among others. The thrill and enchantment help boost mood. Alongside that, the music carries important messages as most artists speak their minds in their songs. About 68 percent of adults aged 18-34 years old listen to music every day. I have come up with a list of 3 songs I can't get out of my mind for like a month. These songs are not particularly new but have a special place in my heart. 1. Déjà vu by Naika  Déjà vu  is on top of my list. I heard a clip of this song a few months ago, but I just passed through it. I came across the artist, Naika , and the entire piece recently, and oh...
