The Unfolding Scars

Photo courtesy of Savannah Class / Unsplash For the longest time, I have put on a face, tried to look okay, and found comfort in self-development articles. Well today, I just realize there is just some internal damage resting inside that erupts in the worst moments of life. Have you heard of this person who just finds peace in solitude, always staying locked at home, with a mirror as a best friend and comfort? That's a self-description. And just as a friend, there are days you don't get along with the image on the other side of the mirror. So, there I sit looking at the image on the other side of the mirror. Most times I see potential in the person but other times, it just shows how broken the person is. Your smile does crazy things with it but shows no sympathy when you are at the worst. However, I tend to believe I am my best comfort. Other than the mirror is a mind always racing with thoughts and fantasies. Filled with words and events in reality I cannot do. At some point, ...

The Idea Of A Perfect Day

We all hope for an array of light or happiness to say everything is perfect. You can turn your average days into ideal ones.

What is your take on a perfect day? And is there anything like a perfect day? I think I could best describe it as an ideal/ almost perfect day. A perfect day for most of us is full of fantasies and the unimaginable. So, I would stick to an ideal day.

The reason why most of us don’t find an ideal day is that we are never satisfied with what we have. We are still planning on having that accurate life, moment, or day. We can create that perfect moment with what we have.

According to research, achieving the maximum happiness level requires having ten or more friends and always being in touch, spending 6-7 hours a day with family and friends, monetary and emotional compensation. So, does any of these apply to you?

What My Typical Perfect Day Would Look Like

Of course, a perfect day is all about having optimum happiness. Again, it’s about spending a day how I like or want it to be. I would picture it as starting a day a little late. Yes, I do love sleep. And not only waking up late but also feeling secure about the load in my bank account. It is enough reason to sleep longer.

Again, it goes to having breakfast in bed. I have no idea who will make the breakfast, but yes, that included. There should also be a set of movies/series to watch. An alternative to watching could be spending quality time with friends, having fun outdoor activities and excellent delicacies — having all junk types and dessert according to my cravings.

We can’t forget the part of being productive, for it makes us feel whole, empowered, and floral. We can’t deny that doing something productive gives you inside happiness and energy. However, I would like it as; spending a few hours working and earning more. They say money can’t buy happiness, but lack of it can make you really depressed.

This whole episode goes to getting home and finding your laundry done and having a nutritious meal. That, for me, would be a perfect day.

Getting on to our current realities, though hoping for that great future, you can turn an average day into an ideal one. Here is how.

How To Turn Average Days to Ideal Days

1. Make Time For Your Loved Ones

Ignoring social life is quite depressing because there is no one you can turn to share your life experiences, either bad or good. There is no support, guidance, or advice on certain things in life. It will find you living like a clown lost in your universe.

Be appreciative of your friends. It would help if you had each other and diversity in your small world to get the best of life. It could be an after-work catch-up or a phone call to that friend you have not seen for months.

2. Boost Your Income

Money is important. You can hardly survive without it. To be happy about your way of living, you need to be pleased with your income. I know money is insatiable, but if you are eating well, dressing, affording the slightest luxury, then you are fortunate and should be appreciative.

It takes time to grow your revenue. If you feel you are in stagnation, you could probably avoid disruptions or time suckers to increase productivity. You could also engage in investments to boost your revenue. Investments will open up doors to future great projects of your own. Also, give your best and expect the least. Things will gradually fall into your favor without your realization.

3. Self-care

I can’t stress enough the importance of self-care. Despite how determined you can get, it's essential to care for your body, soul, and mind. They need rest and care for your overall wellbeing and to boost your productivity.

Learn more on achieving self-care from my previous post, "5 Most Effective Self-care Activities". Again, embrace happiness in the slightest things as it makes you feel a step closer to perfection.

My Latest Travel Experience

Adventure at Camp Ndunda As I sat on my bed thinking of what to publish in my next post, I couldn’t help but obey the after-effects of my excursion last weekend. The experience was so captivating that I thought it would be best to put it on record. So, my friends and I went camping at Camp Ndunda Falls in Embu from Friday to Sunday. This was my first camping trip. It was also in honor of a friend's birthday. Simply a whole weekend with friends out there experiencing nature. It was one of a kind. We set off in the afternoon and arrived at around 7 pm. The reception right from the gate was at its best. Upon checking in, they did not waste time to give us a guide to help us settle; that is, to our tents, setting us a bonfire and leading us to where we had our supper. Talking of supper, they have flavorful meals to die for, especially their platters. We then got ourselves psyched out for the weekend by jamming into some of our playlists and around a bonfire to sway the night aw...

3 Songs I Can't Get out of My Mind

Photo by Elice Moore from Unsplash.com Music is part of life and a kind of a free lifestyle anyone can access. The rhymes and beats ringing in our minds have a special kind of peace, relaxation, and refreshment . These effects of music trigger one to turn on their playlists or radio while cooking, cleaning, or doing other manual work, or while sitting alone in a vehicle traveling, when bored, among others. The thrill and enchantment help boost mood. Alongside that, the music carries important messages as most artists speak their minds in their songs. About 68 percent of adults aged 18-34 years old listen to music every day. I have come up with a list of 3 songs I can't get out of my mind for like a month. These songs are not particularly new but have a special place in my heart. 1. Déjà vu by Naika  Déjà vu  is on top of my list. I heard a clip of this song a few months ago, but I just passed through it. I came across the artist, Naika , and the entire piece recently, and oh...
