Hey fam,
Popping in my blog suddenly after ghosting it for God knows how long is not amusing. Yeah, it's been a while, quite engaged, but I always have the blog in mind. Anyways the reason for writing about this topic is due to a sequence of related thoughts and voices of it around me recently.
First of all am an overthinker, which pisses me off most times. Again, on Sunday in church, the preaching was about bracing ourselves not minding others' judgment. Also, yesterday I came across a quote over the internet that says we are our prisons by clouding our judgment. And hell yeah, I decided to let myself get over the issue through my blog. You can thank the sequence for bringing me back to my blog.
So, overthinking situations is part of most of us, and we often find it difficult not to over-analyze situations. Many tell us, be kind to yourselves, but it naturally doesn’t happen. But I hope this post will help lessen the outlook, especially if you see what we cost ourselves by overthinking.
Why we Overthink
We are often excessively lost in our mind thinking about what we had just done at that event, how we were dressed, and too many other comparisons with others. We always are afraid of not fitting in, and that’s a problem, as you all know. We all have different individualities and can only be happy in those personalities.
Again, we overanalyze our next moves in life due to fear of not making the right decision. Come to think of it, we live with uncertainties, not knowing what the future holds for us. Why then overthink about the steps you will make. A much greater being is in control of our lives, and we should believe in ourselves and the process. Furthermore, it only prevents us from just doing whatever we have to do, costing us many opportunities.
Why You Should Refrain From Overthinking
Overthinking steals us away from the present moment. It denies us the happiness of life events. It would be best if we permitted ourselves to live without overanalyzing our behavior. “We need to release ourselves from the shackles of our minds that keep us trapped in a cycle of self-doubt and skepticism,” Ash Alves.
